Ashley Goodwin of Grandview Dairy Farm in Gordonsville poses with a Jersey cow at the fair on Friday afternoon.

Friday evening promises to draw a crowd to the Orange County Fair, thanks to storm-free skies and lots of entertainment on tap.

Scheduled events include the Oakland Heights Drill Team performing on horseback in the show ring at 6:30 p.m., a lawnmower pull and the 4-H beef show, both at 7 p.m., and an Ultimate Championship Wrestling show at 7:30.

There also will be performances by illusionist and escape artist Josh Knotts and Grayson Matchett, who will present "Agricadabra," a show about agriculture.

For those heading to the fair tomorrow, the action begins at 8:30 a.m. with the 4-H dairy goat show. After a full day of events, including a draft horse pull and mule show, an antique tractor pull, the 4-H dairy cattle show and a cow-milking contest, the 4-H auction will kick off at 6 p.m.

Also on Saturday, a demolition derby will take place at 7:30 p.m.

Carnival rides will be available from 5 to 11 p.m., when the fair closes.

Admission is $10 for ages 11 and up and free for children age 10 and under. There is an additional fee for the carnival rides.
