On Saturday, a perfect day for wandering around fields and forests beneath a bright sun, Rep. Abigail Spanberger talked conservation and agriculture at James Madison’s Montpelier. Spanberger, who represents Virginia’s 7th District, praised Montpelier’s first-ever “Eco Rodeo” for promoting environmental stewardship and reminding visitors of “the importance of the land to the success of our rural economy.” The free event gave hundreds of guests, including lots of children, a chance to learn about conservation efforts of many different kinds. Exhibitors included beekeepers, master naturalists, master gardeners and a state forester.
