CVS building damaged in car crash

A pillar at the CVS in Orange was damaged in a recent car crash.

Customers and employees at the CVS in Orange got a scare when a car in the parking lot hit three other vehicles and then slammed into a pillar near the store's entrance.

According to Virginia State Police (VSP) Sgt. Brent Coffey, the four-vehicle crash happened at 4:19 p.m. on Monday, June 3, at the CVS on Radney Road. A 2015 Ford Focus, driven by George L. Page Jr. of Orange, came into the CVS parking lot and hit a 2015 Nissan Versa. The impact caused Page's car to ram  a 1994 Ford F-150 and a 2011 Subaru Legacy before it crashed into the CVS building.

Page, 56, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving.

The driver of the Nissan, a 31-year-old Waynesboro woman wearing a seat belt, was not injured. The Ford F-150 and the Subaru were not occupied when they were hit.

VSP Trooper M. S. Burgett is investigating the crash. The Town of Orange Police Department and Orange Fire and Rescue assisted state police at the crash scene.
