The Orange Rotary Club held the 40th annual re-dedication of the Orange Community Memorial Christmas Tree Sunday, Dec. 8 in Taylor Park. The tree dedication traditionally follows the club’s Christmas parade. The tree initially was planted and donated by Mr. and Mrs. Welford Sherman in memory of their son David. Each year, lights are added to the tree in memory of community members who pass on. Acknowledging that the holidays can be challenging for families as they remember loved ones lost, the Rev. Jim Beavers encouraged the audience to “not lose track of hope,” during the Christmas season.
