All-CVa XC

The 2018 All-Central Virginia cross country team.

RUNNER OF THE YEAR

Arianna DeBoer, Albemarle, Sophomore

DeBoer was a model of consistency for a young, but talented Albemarle cross country team. The sophomore captured gold at the Region 5B championships by nearly eight seconds and was the top local finisher at the 35th annual Albemarle Invitational. She capped her season with a 10th-place finish at the Class 5 state meet with a season-best time of 19:39 to earn all-state honors.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Katie Pugh, Western Albemarle

This fall was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Western Albemarle girls cross country team following the graduation of many top performers. That wasn’t the case at all, as Pugh guided the Warriors to the Region 3B title and a runner-up finish at the Class 3 state championships.
