GOLFER OF THE YEAR

Jack Bruns, Albemarle, Senior

Bruns capped off an outstanding career at Albemarle High School this fall with a season to remember. The Jefferson District Player of the Year guided the Patriots to a Region 5D tournament title and a third-place finish at the Class 5 state tournament.


COACH OF THE YEAR

Greg Maynard, Albemarle

Maynard guided the Patriots to a Jefferson District regular season title this fall. The Patriots went on to win the Region 5D tournament in dominant fashion and wrapped up the season with a third-place finish at the Class 5 state tournament.


FIRST TEAM

Jack Bruns, Albemarle

Bruns was a model of consistency for Albemarle this season. The senior was the Jefferson District Player of the Year and carded a season-best 69 to finish third at the Class 5 state tournament.

Brian O’Dea, Western Albemarle

O’Dea had a breakout campaign for Western Albemarle this season. The sophomore was an all-district performer and carded a season-low 71 at the Jefferson District tournament to share medalist honors with Jack Bruns.

Jake Huffman, Monticello

The senior capped off a great career at Monticello with an impressive final campaign. Huffman was an all-district performer and represented the Mustangs at regionals and states as an individual and was the top scorer for Monticello all season.

Zane Moore, Louisa County

Moore emerged as the leader of the Louisa County golf program with a breakout season. The sophomore placed third at the district tournament with a 74 and capped the year by finishing in a tie for second at the Class 4 state championships.

Parker Woolford, William Monroe

Woolford turned in another outstanding performer as the top golfer for William Monroe. The senior was an all-Northwestern District performer and garnered regional honors as the Greene Dragons earned a return trip to the state tournament.

Robert Brozey, Albemarle

Brozey continued to improve his game and developed into a rising star in the Jefferson District. The junior was an all-district performer and posted the second-best scoring average for a Patriots team that finished third at the Class 5 state tournament.

Miles Lesko, William Monroe

Lesko was a steady performer for William Monroe that played his best golf at the end of the year. The senior was an all-district and all-regional performer for the Greene Dragons and led the team with an eighth-place finish at the Class 3 state tournament.

Nathan Vance, Western Albemarle

Vance was another big-time performer for Western Albemarle’s golf team this fall. He was an all-district performer and helped the Warriors claim the Jefferson District tournament title. He also was the team’s top scorer at the Class 3 state championships.
